Happy Mother’s Day to the most amazing, caring, selfless, understanding, loving individual I know… my momma. Thank you for loving me that much. We should celebrate you every day, for are the reason I am who I am today… and you are the reason I know how to love my little ones just like a momma should.

“We are born to love, yes, but we learn to love – to nurture, to show affection, to be compassionate, to hug, to kiss, to embrace – through others. It is an understatement to say that my mother knows how to love…” Taken from my mother’s day post last year… and because I haven’t had the time to post a new one (and working on transitioning my family blog over)… a repost is necessary.   See more here: http://jacoballan.blogspot.com/2011/05/happy-momma.html

The start of an awesome momma’s day… but first a special happy birthday to my dad, the most incredible father I could have ever asked for. The bottom picture is one of my absolute favorites… My dad saw me for the first time in my wedding dress, was crying (even though he may not admit it), and kept turning his back to our photographer as to not be captured with tears… I love you, Daddy-O 🙂

My sister (Lindsay, fitness guru over at Itz Linz) and I decided to do the 2nd annual Ruckus Run.  Our first mission was simple:  Put together really cute outfits showcasing our awesome businesses:  SCP and Itz Linz.  Mission accomplished.

Our second mission:  Run like crazy and have fun.

And even in the 90 degree heat and some pretty hard core obstacles, we did just that.

Lindsay made sure to tell me that there are photographers everywhere taking pictures so to make sure to always smile.  Having run a thousand more races than me, she was a much better pro at this than me.

My parents win the best-supportive-parents award of the day for literally dashing around the course capturing our every move on both the camera and video.

Probably one of my most favorite shots of the day because from the second we started to the very end, Lindsay made sure my bottom kept going strong.

There you go, Lindsay… still smiling 🙂

For Lindsay, who loves jumping pictures more than any other kind…

[…] For now, you can read my pre-race morning post or you can look at some of the awesome pictures on Stephanie’s blog here.  You know we just had to take jumping pictures when we were all […]ReplyCancel

Our March workshop was full of some awesome attendees (seriously, you ladies rock!), some sweet new peanuts, and some not-supposed-to-look-that-gorgeous-one-week-after-giving-birth mommas!  By the end of our two newborn sessions, post processing work, and a tasty lunch, I felt that the workshop was a HUGE success and could not wait to do it all over again.  However, you don’t have to take my word for it.  The reviews are in…

“I recently attended a newborn mentoring workshop with Stephanie Cotta Photography. I can not say enough good things about Stephanie and her work. She has a gift with newborns and it was wonderful watching how she interacts and poses her newborns. She has such patience and it shows in her work. Stephanie shared all the behind the scenes work as well as posing techniques. The information truly will enhance my newborn photography and has given me more confidence in my work with newborns. Stephanie also shared many valuable resources on post processing as well as who the best vendors are to work with.  I highly recommend a Stephanie Cotta Photography workshop to any aspiring newborn photographer. You will not be disappointed.”

“COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY AWESOME!!! That is about all I can say about that!  The part I loved and the part that was most advantageous are somewhat one in the same. I really liked the fact that we were able to see from start to finish how a session is pulled together (from arrival of mom and baby to completion and all the distractions in between). [Stephanie’s] instruction throughout was great. As well seeing [her] in action interacting with mom and baby was good to see as well. It is very dynamic!”

“Overall I would recommend this workshop to any serious photographer that is looking to make newborn photography a part of their client offering.  The workshop was super fun, informative and so worth every penny!  Stephanie is an amazing mentor and photographer!”

“I can see why [Stephanie] is so successful.  [She] has a wonderful way of making everyone feel comfortable around [her] and [she] has a natural talent at newborn photography!”

Thank you to our wonderful models…

The best bunch of attendees!! XOXOX
