Definitely need to add in more of the reviews that come in for the SCP Newborn Posing Guide but for now…here’s the latest that just popped into my inbox:
“Stephanie, I can not believe I waited this long to purchase your guide!! This is something that every newborn photographer must have!! You literally leave nothing out of this guide.. not only is there a billion detailed instructions, but there are a million photographs showing you how to do it!! And more, the transitioning between poses is something I was doing so wrong. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I am beyond excited that I have invested in this! You are nothing short of the baby whisperer and I am so glad to be able to learn from the best!”
Thanks Becca for sharing 🙂 🙂

I get a lot of questions about who this guide is for.. new newborn photographers? Experienced newborn photographers? And I honestly created the guide with both new and veteran photographers in mind… I went crazy, crazy detailed so that even someone just starting newborn photography would feel comfortable utilizing this as a resource and be equipped with the tools and information to successfully photograph newborns and I also went crazy, crazy detailed for the more experience newborn photographers that wanted to be able to pinpoint that things in certain poses that they might not have been doing properly to achieve the desired look. And I know that it is helping you all tremendously. And I LOVE that. Because – as I stated on my fb page today – I’m a big believer that we should all support those in the same field, rather than always feel the need to compete 🙂
I’ve had the most amazing, amazing reviews and emails come in from so many of you about this guide. My goal has always been to share these with you all so that those of you that might have questions about the guide can see how it is helping so many photogs.
Meet Jennifer….
“Hi! I am Jennifer Veitch of Jennifer Veitch Photography. I have been photographing newborns for about 2 years now. I really was feeling like my images lacked polish and that special “something”. I wasn’t loving the posing I was doing with my newborns, something wasn’t quite right to me with them. I wanted some PIZAZZ!
I purchased Stephanie’s guide the day it was released as a friend of mine told me about it, and after reading Stephanie’s blog post about it, I was sold! The next night, glass of wine in hand, I sat down with this guide…….ready to learn. I read it, then again and then one more time. I was in awe! It was like being there right with Stephanie as she goes through each pose, step by step, giving you photographs of each angle, each tiny detail. That is what I needed to do, pay attention to detail. It was like a lightbulb went off!
The following day I was lucky enough to have a newborn booked. So guide in hand (so handy you can put it on your ipad for reference or print it out), off I went. And you know what? I NAILED it! Oh how my posing came together! I had poses that I had tried over and over again and failed at, all because of the guide and the tiny details that Stephanie goes over. I was ecstatic!
So, then I thought, first time I was lucky? NOPE! Every single newborn session I have had since this guide has gotten better and better. I still review the guide the night before, (yes I am a perfectionist haha!) as I am not perfect yet, and that really does help to remind me of the little things, toes here, fingers there and the right angles! I am beyond thrilled with the images I am getting now. I have learned a lot over the past 2 years from many different people, other photographers and helpful groups, but this guide is what will help perfect my images and take them from nice to extraordinary.
There is a load of other really useful information in the guide as well. Prep information that is so crucial to a successful session. I did know most of what she offers in those parts as like I mentioned I have been photographing newborns myself for 2 years, BUT it is so nice to have that information re inforced and helped me see what Stephanie does compared to what I do. I thought to myself ‘ok, she does that too, I must be on the right track!’.
So to end this review (if you are still following along!), I will say that this guide is very useful for BOTH new and existing photographers. I know 2 years ago when I was starting out, I would have LOVED to have this guide to lead me in the right direction. I also know as an already established photographer, how much it has changed my work already. I am so excited to see where it will take me in the future. Much thanks Stephanie, I am so glad you published this guide!!”

Jennifer, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me!! Feel free to go leave Jennifer some love on her fb page!!

Oh, what a magical day we had on this cold day in St. Louis… I don’t think this little one stopped smiling until long after he fell asleep that night. There’s no better way to explain our day than with a few of our favorite moments….
* The invite.

* Starting with one incredible cake. I’m fortunate to have one of the best cake ladies in St. Louis create cakes for my events… Her name is Beth and she is so amazing to work with… plus she creates the most creative (and delicious!) cakes.

* Check out Jacob’s oversized cupcake… complete with a superhero red cape of course!

* The details. It’s not that I feel that everything has to be perfect…. I just enjoy throwing together little details. And I won’t tell you about how I stressed out because my chevron patterned straws and coordinating bags for take-home treats didn’t arrive in time.
And the capes? The capes were all made by my incredibly talented friend, Allison. She created one for each child, complete with their very own initial. And more? She also designs and creates the most gorgeous fabric banners and dresses (many which Audrey Rose gets to wear!)… and even better.. she has FINALLY decided to take custom orders. So excited for some of my client’s upcoming shoots I have with some of her items. Feel free to email her at info@jillianeve.com for more information… I will tell you she will only take on a few orders at a time so you better hurry if you want to get on her list!
* Also a HUGE thank you to my momma for making the dipped marshmallows and dipped pretzels and for my little sister for making the dipped oreos… I’m telling you … I couldn’t do this all by myself!

* Oh, my big four-year-old. Not only is he as sweet as they come, but he also really loves his baby sister.

* My crew. No, seriously. From the left, my friend Allison (that also made the capes!), my little sister Lindsay and my Momma. Who always, always arrive way too early to the party and help me set up.

* This is how Babaloo starts his performances at birthday parties. And the fun never stops!!!

* I mean, seriously…. look at those smiles!!! Yes, the parties do take a bit to plan and put together but in the end… doesn’t this make it all worthwhile??

* And I can’t say enough good things about Babaloo. He does free concerts around St. Louis as well occasionally… I highly suggest you go find him!

* I spy some gorgeous new hair sprouting from Roxie’s gorgeous head… For all my Team Roxie fans, Roxie is doing amazing!!

* Loved that all the littles were way more interested in snacking then being with those crazy, dancing three and four-year-olds!

* Props to myself for making the decision to hold this party NOT at my house. Because when you’re having this much fun, things are bound to get messy!

And that, my friends, is how we celebrated Jacob’s 4th birthday party. I can’t wait to see what the Fantastic Fours have in store for us this year 🙂

Jacob is so fortunate to have a mom who blows traditional scrap booking out of the water! What a great way to honor and remember his special 4th birthday. Nice work! Thanks for including us 🙂
